Narrative:
After experiencing wake turbulence from B757 ahead; landing lax; we went above glide slope and slightly left of course (VMC visual). Ended up high on final and out of position for proper landing. Went around. Was vectored 6 miles behind B747. Experienced wake turbulence again. Landed.

Title: Air carrier Captain reported encountering wake vortex on arrival to LAX; resulting in an unstable approach followed by a go around. Flight encountered wake turbulence on the next approach also but a normal landing was made.
