Narrative:
Telephoned la coast TRACON for IFR clearance to long beach airport from meadowlark airport (private uncontrolled) 10 miles away. TRACON gave takeoff window from xx:40 to xx:45, and issued clearance at xx:25. I did not check my watch at that point. After takeoff ATC gave me vectors for the approach and chastised me for taking off early. They said supervisor wanted a time check, but I didn't hear anymore about it. Later I checked watch against clock at FBO and it was fast.
