Narrative:
En route to ewr from boston the landing gear warning circuit breaker popped. Attempted one reset as per company manual and notified maintenance of the problem. Normal approach made at ewr and when landing gear was lowered, 3 green down and safe indications were seen with the bottom portion of each light out. At 500' started receiving a pull up warning from the GPWS while on G/south making a normal approach. Attempted reset of landing gear warning circuit breaker and at that time the bottom lights of the landing gear that were out illuminated along with a right main unsafe light. A go around procedure was performed at this point. When the flaps started to retract the right main unsafe light went out. Gear indications were now normal and gear was left down and a second approach was made. When flaps selected beyond 15 degrees the red right main unsafe light came back on and second go procedure was started. Again, when raising the flaps, the right main unsafe would go out. Tower said that the gear appeared down at the second pass. Right main unsafe indications appeared to be triggered by flap selection. At this time notified cabin crew to prepare cabin for possible right gear failure upon landing. Advised tower to have emergency equipment standing by and would have to be towed off the runway. On third approach once again right main unsafe light came on when flaps selected beyond 15 degrees and landing gear bypass lever was pulled as per manual. Normal landing was made and towed to gate after gear pins installed.

Title: DURING APCH REPORTER ACFT EXPERIENCED MALFUNCTIONS IN THE LNDG GEAR INDICATION SYSTEM WHICH THEN CAUSED WARNINGS TO BE GENERATED BY THE GND PROX WARNING WHICH IS PROTECTING DESCENT BELOW 500' AGL WITHOUT THE LNDG GEAR HANDLE IN THE DOWN POS. IN FACT, IT APPEARS THE LNDG GEAR WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY.
Narrative: ENRTE TO EWR FROM BOSTON THE LNDG GEAR WARNING CB POPPED. ATTEMPTED ONE RESET AS PER COMPANY MANUAL AND NOTIFIED MAINT OF THE PROB. NORMAL APCH MADE AT EWR AND WHEN LNDG GEAR WAS LOWERED, 3 GREEN DOWN AND SAFE INDICATIONS WERE SEEN WITH THE BOTTOM PORTION OF EACH LIGHT OUT. AT 500' STARTED RECEIVING A PULL UP WARNING FROM THE GPWS WHILE ON G/S MAKING A NORMAL APCH. ATTEMPTED RESET OF LNDG GEAR WARNING CB AND AT THAT TIME THE BOTTOM LIGHTS OF THE LNDG GEAR THAT WERE OUT ILLUMINATED ALONG WITH A RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE LIGHT. A GAR PROC WAS PERFORMED AT THIS POINT. WHEN THE FLAPS STARTED TO RETRACT THE RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE LIGHT WENT OUT. GEAR INDICATIONS WERE NOW NORMAL AND GEAR WAS LEFT DOWN AND A SECOND APCH WAS MADE. WHEN FLAPS SELECTED BEYOND 15 DEGS THE RED RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND SECOND GO PROC WAS STARTED. AGAIN, WHEN RAISING THE FLAPS, THE RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE WOULD GO OUT. TWR SAID THAT THE GEAR APPEARED DOWN AT THE SECOND PASS. RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE INDICATIONS APPEARED TO BE TRIGGERED BY FLAP SELECTION. AT THIS TIME NOTIFIED CABIN CREW TO PREPARE CABIN FOR POSSIBLE RIGHT GEAR FAILURE UPON LNDG. ADVISED TWR TO HAVE EMER EQUIP STANDING BY AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED OFF THE RWY. ON THIRD APCH ONCE AGAIN RIGHT MAIN UNSAFE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN FLAPS SELECTED BEYOND 15 DEGS AND LNDG GEAR BYPASS LEVER WAS PULLED AS PER MANUAL. NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE AND TOWED TO GATE AFTER GEAR PINS INSTALLED.
