Narrative:
While maneuvering VFR at 3;000 MSL east of the uncontrolled airport at which was the point of intended landing; the aircraft's left engine very abruptly lost all power and began to nts (negative torque sense). A shut down per the emergency checklist was completed and a uneventful single engine landing was accomplished. The aircraft cleared the runway and was shut down and towed to the hangar. Maintenance was informed and an investigation as to the cause is ongoing.
