Narrative:

I was unable to see centennial airport because it has no beacon. Den approach asked if we had centennial in sight after advising us that we were 1 mile from the centennial air traffic area. We advised that we did not have the airport. Approach terminated radar service. We called up centennial tower, reported that we were northwest, inbound to land. We were told to enter right base for 17L and to report crossing I-25. We were over I-25 at that time and reported that fact to tower who subsequently cleared us to land. There was no other traffic in the immediate area. It would be helpful if the apa beacon were operating because it had been some time since I had flown into apa at night.
