Narrative:

On takeoff, the landing gear was retracted, however the nose gear did not retract. The landing gear was selected down and the all 3 gear did extend. The reason the nosegear did not retract was because the aircraft was pushed back and the nosegear pin was not engaged. Although I did not specifically ask if the nosegear pin was engaged, I had minutes before push back, explicitly explained to the ground crew how to engage the nosepin. After both engines were started, I saluted to ground crew to tell them I was ready, the ground crew waved back, telling me that the plane was ready for taxi. No headsets were used, but hand signals were used. After landing at tampa, I got off the airplane and one of the ground crew said 'I thought he pushed in the pin'.

Narrative: ON TKOF, THE LNDG GEAR WAS RETRACTED, HOWEVER THE NOSE GEAR DID NOT RETRACT. THE LNDG GEAR WAS SELECTED DOWN AND THE ALL 3 GEAR DID EXTEND. THE REASON THE NOSEGEAR DID NOT RETRACT WAS BECAUSE THE ACFT WAS PUSHED BACK AND THE NOSEGEAR PIN WAS NOT ENGAGED. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT SPECIFICALLY ASK IF THE NOSEGEAR PIN WAS ENGAGED, I HAD MINUTES BEFORE PUSH BACK, EXPLICITLY EXPLAINED TO THE GND CREW HOW TO ENGAGE THE NOSEPIN. AFTER BOTH ENGS WERE STARTED, I SALUTED TO GND CREW TO TELL THEM I WAS READY, THE GND CREW WAVED BACK, TELLING ME THAT THE PLANE WAS READY FOR TAXI. NO HEADSETS WERE USED, BUT HAND SIGNALS WERE USED. AFTER LNDG AT TAMPA, I GOT OFF THE AIRPLANE AND ONE OF THE GND CREW SAID 'I THOUGHT HE PUSHED IN THE PIN'.
