Narrative:
After a normal touchdown; landing and taxi to the gate; the outbound first officer reported a hydraulic leak in the vicinity of the left landing gear. I went down to inspect the leak myself and observed the left main landing gear strut seal was leaking significantly; and had a trail of fluid behind the airplane. I entered the discrepancy in the logbook.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: An MD-82 Captain was alerted by the outbound First Officer preflighting the aircraft he flew in that there was a substantial hydraulic fluid leak at the left main gear. The reporter returned to the flight deck and entered an appropriate write-up in the AML.
