Narrative:
I was at 12000' when the controller asked my altitude. My altimeter read 12000' so I conveyed this to the controller. She had given me the wrong altimeter setting. Once she gave me the proper setting, she received the proper altitude readout.

Title: PLT REPORTER APPARENTLY GIVEN WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING RESULTING IN CRUISE AT WRONG ALT.
Narrative: I WAS AT 12000' WHEN THE CTLR ASKED MY ALT. MY ALTIMETER READ 12000' SO I CONVEYED THIS TO THE CTLR. SHE HAD GIVEN ME THE WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING. ONCE SHE GAVE ME THE PROPER SETTING, SHE RECEIVED THE PROPER ALT READOUT.
