Narrative:
Reviewing my flight plan I noticed in the MEL item info on first page of flight plan an MEL item referring only to a 'root fillet fairing' and no other items. Researching the item listed I came across another MEL item of far worse consequences; stating the flight control position indicator in the cockpit was unreliable and contained a long and potentially dangerous preflight check for the flight crew to perform. This plane should not have been in service for 3 days with this problem.
