Narrative:
On approach in after putting gear and flaps down at about 1;500 feet AGL ECAM on status page normal brakes inoperative and altitude brakes inoperative. We decided to go around and look at ECAM. After go around ECAM changed to brakes automatic brk fault. Went in for normal landing. Called ops and maintenance on ground; wrote up problem in logbook.

Title: A320 Captain experiences an ECAM Status message during approach indicating both normal and alternate brakes are inoperative. A go around is initiated. After go around the ECAM message has changed to AUTO BRK FAULT and a normal landing ensues.
