During pre-flight/cargo onload; got APU auto shutdown. Within 15-20 seconds; maintenance personnel rushed into cockpit and stated 'APU fire; pull the fire handle and discharge agent'. Captain complied immediately with request. Maintenance personnel professional throughout entire evolution.
