Narrative:
While dealing with a right main gear indication problem; I attempted to visually confirm the condition of the right main gear through the cabin floor view port. I was unable due to the installation of a thick; fiberglass view port cover. After landing; maintenance needed to use a metal tool to pry the cover off. It was attached with a tremendous amount of velcro.crew needs to be informed of this cover and installation method needs to allow for ease of removal; not requiring tools.
