Narrative:
Due to a pneumatic overheat which could not be isolated the decision was made to return to hnl. After consulting various charts and checklists it was determined that an overweight landing was a safer course of action than that of dumping fuel. An uneventful soft landing was made on runway 8L at hnl. Additional consideration was given to the possible ecological impact of dumping fuel in environmentally sensitive waters.
