Narrative:
This is to call your attention to a potential problem on departure at ont. The prado 2 instrument departure on runway 26L/right is, 'turn left, thence...' no indication of how soon turn should be executed nor an altitude. On taxi out, we observed a sign toward the end of taxiway stating, 'on prado 2 departure, do not start turn until 2000' MSL,' or words to that effect. Unfortunately, this is not on the SID (dated 12/88), 10-3C, nor on the IFR departure procedure on the back of the airport page (10-9A, 1/88). I understand that this is for noise abatement, but shouldn't this be on the SID also?

ON TAXI OUT, WE OBSERVED A SIGN TOWARD THE END OF TXWY STATING, 'ON PRADO 2 DEP, DO NOT START TURN UNTIL 2000' MSL,' OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT.
