Narrative:
During engine start on maintenance ramp the catering truck returned and pulled up to the aircraft. I do not know if he pulled up during or after engine start. The caterer came walking up to the side of the aircraft with both engines running to get my attention. I immediately shut down both engines. A total lack of communications while starting engines.
