Flew VFR on top and encountered engine problems. Started descend under partial power and declared an emergency. Was issued IFR clearance and vectored in to ZZZ for an ILS approach. Engine quit on the rollout. Mechanic found the problem to be a faulty intake valve.

Title: Pilot reports he had encountered engine problems in flight and had to land his Mooney M20F aircraft in emergency conditions. The Lycoming engine quit on rollout. Mechanic found faulty intake valve.
