Narrative:

Just after training in slow flight maneuvers; and upon the completion of clearing turns to clear the area; my student and I began to enter a simulated engine failure scenario. Seconds after establishing best glide speed of the aircraft; my student announced that he saw a helicopter on his side of the aircraft. I looked out his side of the aircraft and saw an ec 135 eurocopter passing approximately 200 ft below us from left to right. It was a medical type helicopter that services the local area. The event took place in clear conditions in the middle of the local flight training practice area.
