Narrative:

When transitioning under the atl class B airspace; I got a GPS (aera 500) warning that I had entered the class B. Referencing the GPS and my sectional; I believe the alert to be incorrect. In the event that it was correct and to inform NASA of the potential for false alerts from the GPS systems currently being used; I am filing this report. My location was west south west of the atl airport at an altitude of 2;200 feet. I hope the information helps the NASA data base to include potential false alerts from a GPS system.
