Narrative:
Descending for landing the right engine flamed out. This was at 12;000 ft in clear air. Power was at or near flight idle. The captain told me to fly the jet he would run the checklist and radio's. I was the pilot flying. The captain did declare mayday to ATC. The right engine was restarted. We landed without further problems.

Title: B757 flight crew experiences a right engine flameout passing 12;000 FT in the descent. An emergency is declared and the engine successfully restarted before landing.
Narrative: Descending for landing the right engine flamed out. This was at 12;000 FT in clear air. Power was at or near flight idle. The Captain told me to fly the jet he would run the checklist and radio's. I was the pilot flying. The Captain did declare Mayday to ATC. The right engine was restarted. We landed without further problems.
