Narrative:
On pushback we were cleared to start both engines. As second engine was starting; we suddenly got a 'fwd cargo door open' warning. Captain queried the tug driver and was told; 'they just need to throw on another bag.' captain told them the number 2 engine was turning. By the time the engine stabilized; the door was closing. This could easily have resulted in either serious personal injury or damage to the aircraft engine. Truly a first time experience for me.
Original NASA ASRS Text
