Narrative:
While instructing private/military rated executive pilot, student inadvertently pressed go-around switch on power levers, aircraft pitched up 7-10, at an indicated airspeed of 160 KTS. Aircraft climbed rapidly from assigned altitude of 16,000', at which time we were already leveled at. I immediately disconnected the autoplt/flight director system, however, we had already busted our altitude by 500' by this time. I advised ATC of the nature of the altitude deviation. They never acknowledged the occurrence.

Title: FLAW IN EQUIPMENT DESIGN CONTRIBUTES TO ALT DEVIATION.
Narrative: WHILE INSTRUCTING PRIVATE/MIL RATED EXECUTIVE PLT, STUDENT INADVERTENTLY PRESSED GO-AROUND SWITCH ON POWER LEVERS, ACFT PITCHED UP 7-10, AT AN INDICATED AIRSPEED OF 160 KTS. ACFT CLIMBED RAPIDLY FROM ASSIGNED ALT OF 16,000', AT WHICH TIME WE WERE ALREADY LEVELED AT. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT/FLT DIRECTOR SYSTEM, HOWEVER, WE HAD ALREADY BUSTED OUR ALT BY 500' BY THIS TIME. I ADVISED ATC OF THE NATURE OF THE ALT DEVIATION. THEY NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THE OCCURRENCE.
