Narrative:
On rotation or maybe a few feet AGL; the attitude indicator; turn coordinator; and HSI all showed red xs for a second or two and then all three displays on the G1000 pfd went to black. The altitude and airspeed tapes appeared to work. I contacted tower around 100 ft AGL and requested a return to the runway. No emergency was declared as conditions were VMC and the standby analog instruments were functioning. At about 400 ft AGL on final or base-to-final; all three displays turned back on. I landed without incident; reported the problem to the flight school that owns the plane; and completed a maintenance form.
