Narrative:
Just reaching an altitude of FL340 we got a spoiler fail master caution with a spoiler open indication on the EICAS. This amounted to an uncommanded spoiler deployment in flight. We went through the emergency/abnormal checklist declared an emergency started a descent and headed to ZZZZ; the nearest suitable airport. We had them roll the emergency vehicles; and we landed uneventfully.
