Narrative:
The reason for sending this is because with the FAA get tough attitude I must protect myself. 1) job: I fly helicopter's for an emergency medical service in a metropolitan city. 2) what happened: I was flying to a hospital from a traffic accident. 6 mi north of xyz, I called xyz tower and requested transition along south freeway to ZZZ. It was approved. 5 mi later I asked for a frequency change to ZZZ. It was approved. I made the frequency change on the #2 radio, then made my radio call 'ZZZ tower EMS helicopter spc X, xyz, request south for landing at hospital'. Tower's reply was 'approved'. I continued to the hospital. 3) so what's the problem?: when we got back into the helicopter I noticed that the #2 radio was tuned to abc tower (20 mi to the north of ZZZ). Did I just fly through ZZZ's air traffic area while talking to abc tower? If so why did the tower say approved (the south freeway does not go into abc airport's area)? Or did I change frequencys after landing? I called ZZZ tower for takeoff from hospital wbound. It was approved and no comments or questions were asked from the tower. 4) conclusion: I hope the correct radio call was made. What bothers me the most is with the FAA scare tactics (you make a mistake you lose your license), I was afraid to make a phone call to ZZZ tower and talk about what happened, or what didn't happen!

Title: PLT FEELS HE MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY USED THE WRONG FREQ WHEN REQUESTING CLRNC INTO A CTL ZONE.
Narrative: THE REASON FOR SENDING THIS IS BECAUSE WITH THE FAA GET TOUGH ATTITUDE I MUST PROTECT MYSELF. 1) JOB: I FLY HELI'S FOR AN EMER MEDICAL SERVICE IN A METROPOLITAN CITY. 2) WHAT HAPPENED: I WAS FLYING TO A HOSPITAL FROM A TFC ACCIDENT. 6 MI N OF XYZ, I CALLED XYZ TWR AND REQUESTED TRANSITION ALONG S FREEWAY TO ZZZ. IT WAS APPROVED. 5 MI LATER I ASKED FOR A FREQ CHANGE TO ZZZ. IT WAS APPROVED. I MADE THE FREQ CHANGE ON THE #2 RADIO, THEN MADE MY RADIO CALL 'ZZZ TWR EMS HELI SPC X, XYZ, REQUEST S FOR LNDG AT HOSPITAL'. TWR'S REPLY WAS 'APPROVED'. I CONTINUED TO THE HOSPITAL. 3) SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?: WHEN WE GOT BACK INTO THE HELI I NOTICED THAT THE #2 RADIO WAS TUNED TO ABC TWR (20 MI TO THE N OF ZZZ). DID I JUST FLY THROUGH ZZZ'S ATA WHILE TALKING TO ABC TWR? IF SO WHY DID THE TWR SAY APPROVED (THE S FREEWAY DOES NOT GO INTO ABC ARPT'S AREA)? OR DID I CHANGE FREQS AFTER LNDG? I CALLED ZZZ TWR FOR TKOF FROM HOSPITAL WBOUND. IT WAS APPROVED AND NO COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS WERE ASKED FROM THE TWR. 4) CONCLUSION: I HOPE THE CORRECT RADIO CALL WAS MADE. WHAT BOTHERS ME THE MOST IS WITH THE FAA SCARE TACTICS (YOU MAKE A MISTAKE YOU LOSE YOUR LICENSE), I WAS AFRAID TO MAKE A PHONE CALL TO ZZZ TWR AND TALK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED, OR WHAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!
