Narrative:
WX 4000' overcast 5 mi visibility stabilized on ILS 32L at ord. At 2300' MSL tower said 'have some departure can you accept 27L.' we replied affirmative. I turned right while attempting to sight 27L. Copilot flying. I saw an large transport approaching what I thought was 27L and I set up to follow/avoid him. As I began my turn inbound I was asked if I had 27L. I responded positively. At about the time I realized I was setting up for 22 the captain and controller realized the same. The resulting overshoot got us too close to another aircraft.
