Narrative:
Call sign air carrier xx en route descent into bna on published STAR received clearance to descend to 10,000' at 30 DME south of bna. At approximately 35 DME south, memphis center told us we were cleared to 11,000' as we were passing 10,600', we climbed back up to 11,000' arresting the descent at 10,400'. Contributing factors: I read back the wrong clearance altitude for the descent, controller didn't correct my readback. Corrective action: recommend placing altitude restriction on published STAR.

Narrative: CALL SIGN ACR XX ENRTE DSCNT INTO BNA ON PUBLISHED STAR RECEIVED CLRNC TO DSND TO 10,000' AT 30 DME S OF BNA. AT APPROX 35 DME S, MEMPHIS CENTER TOLD US WE WERE CLRED TO 11,000' AS WE WERE PASSING 10,600', WE CLIMBED BACK UP TO 11,000' ARRESTING THE DSCNT AT 10,400'. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: I READ BACK THE WRONG CLRNC ALT FOR THE DSCNT, CTLR DIDN'T CORRECT MY READBACK. CORRECTIVE ACTION: RECOMMEND PLACING ALT RESTRICTION ON PUBLISHED STAR.
