Narrative:
The first officer was flying the 12L lda approach at lambert field. We saw both runways and the widebody transport from approximately 10 mi out. The widebody transport flew the parallel 12R ILS approach and the first officer and I both had the widebody transport in sight during the entire approach. At minimums 3 DME/lda 12L freas the first officer turned to the right to land on 12L. When we passed through the centerline of 12L, I told the first officer that he was getting too close to the widebody transport and he corrected to land on 12L. The widebody transport was in sight the entire time. The parallel runways are too close to safely shoot parallel apches. Aircraft overshoot regularly. I have had aircraft overfly and go totally in front of me, while thinking they had us in sight. They were more than likely looking at the wrong aircraft. It would not surprise me to see 2 transport aircraft run together at any time. It will happen.

Title: REPORTER FLT OVERSHOT ALIGNMENT WITH THE FINAL APCH COURSE AND HAD CONFLICT WITH WDB ON APCH TO PARALLEL RWY.
Narrative: THE F/O WAS FLYING THE 12L LDA APCH AT LAMBERT FIELD. WE SAW BOTH RWYS AND THE WDB FROM APPROX 10 MI OUT. THE WDB FLEW THE PARALLEL 12R ILS APCH AND THE F/O AND I BOTH HAD THE WDB IN SIGHT DURING THE ENTIRE APCH. AT MINIMUMS 3 DME/LDA 12L FREAS THE F/O TURNED TO THE RIGHT TO LAND ON 12L. WHEN WE PASSED THROUGH THE CENTERLINE OF 12L, I TOLD THE F/O THAT HE WAS GETTING TOO CLOSE TO THE WDB AND HE CORRECTED TO LAND ON 12L. THE WDB WAS IN SIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME. THE PARALLEL RWYS ARE TOO CLOSE TO SAFELY SHOOT PARALLEL APCHES. ACFT OVERSHOOT REGULARLY. I HAVE HAD ACFT OVERFLY AND GO TOTALLY IN FRONT OF ME, WHILE THINKING THEY HAD US IN SIGHT. THEY WERE MORE THAN LIKELY LOOKING AT THE WRONG ACFT. IT WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME TO SEE 2 TRANSPORT ACFT RUN TOGETHER AT ANY TIME. IT WILL HAPPEN.
