Narrative:
Flight cleared for visual approach to runway 30 at tri cities airport, pasco, wa. Seattle controller issued traffic 2 O'clock, 4 mi, altitude unknown, heading north. After passing traffic we were instructed to contact pasco tower. Missed traffic by approximately 400' vertical, 300' horizontal, after evasive action taken, left descending turn. Believe other aircraft was on a training flight going to the practice area. Radar off of pasco would help. Not much other than keep heads rotating looking for traffic. Center not notified but notified pasco tower by telephone.
