Narrative:
Photo mission over long island great south bay at approximately 1200' heading east. Saw helicopter ahead. Started avoidance descent. Helicopter did same but did not turn. Passed close to one another at about 600' MSL. I was in a turn at that time and he banked as he passed.

Title: NMAC BETWEEN FIXED WING ACFT AND HELICOPTER.
Narrative: PHOTO MISSION OVER LONG ISLAND GREAT SOUTH BAY AT APPROX 1200' HDG EAST. SAW HELI AHEAD. STARTED AVOIDANCE DSCNT. HELI DID SAME BUT DID NOT TURN. PASSED CLOSE TO ONE ANOTHER AT ABOUT 600' MSL. I WAS IN A TURN AT THAT TIME AND HE BANKED AS HE PASSED.
