Narrative:
After rotation tail compt temperature high light came on. This aircraft had a history of this event. The last event was a 140 knot abort. The aircraft was flown back to a maintenance station (ferry flight). We return to the departure airport for an uneventful landing. The light never went out.

Title: A MD-83 TAIL COMPT TEMP HIGH light illuminated at rotation during takeoff; so the crew returned for an uneventful landing. The anomaly was a repeat for this aircraft.
Narrative: After rotation TAIL COMPT TEMP HIGH light came ON. This aircraft had a history of this event. The last event was a 140 knot abort. The aircraft was flown back to a maintenance station (ferry flight). We return to the departure airport for an uneventful landing. The light never went out.
