Narrative:

Tower cleared me to land with 2 aircraft on runway taxiing to FBO east side of runway. I was running checklist when tower asked if I was able to land from my position. I replied yes. I understood that he believed I was too high in altitude to land on runway 14R. I had or was putting full flap to land. In the confusion I did not lower the landing gear. He radioed 'first officer around landing gear up'. At which time I heard metal on runway. At which time gas off, ignition off. At which time we came to a stop approximately 12' right of centerline of runway. The skid approximately 300' to a stop. This aircraft has gear up (red) and gear down light. During night flying or day when navigation light are on the gear light dim. During day light hours with navigation light or the light are not lighted bright enough to be visible.
