Narrative:

The flight was a maintenance chkout of recent repairs. After takeoff in VFR conditions I encountered freezing rain and my windshield was covered. I only had limited forward visibility and side visibility. I landed within 10 mins and had no visibility centerline reference due to the windshield ice and a completely snow-covered runway. The quartering headwind blew me off to the side into a snow bank.
