Narrative:
On ILS; appr was pushed for ILS; glideslope alive and localizer alive. Put in field elevation and did ILS. ATC called for low altitude alert. We doubled check altimeter setting and then corrected. If we had do the approach over again we would have leveled off first then put in field elevation.

Title: Q400 First Officer reports receiving a low altitude warning from ATC during an ILS approach. The field elevation had been set into the MCP prior to the autopilot capturing the assigned altitude or the glideslope.
Narrative: On ILS; APPR was pushed for ILS; glideslope alive and LOC alive. Put in field elevation and did ILS. ATC called for low altitude alert. We doubled check altimeter setting and then corrected. If we had do the approach over again we would have leveled off first then put in field elevation.
