Narrative:
I called FSS in boise to obtain briefing for a flight from boise to sun valley. Obtained usual briefing on route, reporting stations and terminal. Requested any NOTAMS with one given, not briefed on restr airspace from hill city north almost covering boise national forest due to fire fighting activities. I called boise FSS again from sun valley to acquire briefing for the return flight to boise. At this briefing the FSS person informed me of the NOTAM regarding the restr airspace at 12,000' and below. I asked when this NOTAM was established and was informed it had been in effect for several weeks. I indicated that I was not informed of this information at my earlier briefing and had requested forecasted winds aloft at 9 and 12 thousand feet. To me that was another opportunity for the FSS to mention the NOTAM. I did not file a flight plan leaving boise for sun valley but went direct boise to the hailey NDB to hailey airport (sun valley) at 9500'. This would have taken me through the south tip of the restr airspace. The return flight was taken well south of the area in question. I feel that I did not receive a proper flight briefing.

Title: PLT OF LIGHT ACFT REQUESTS NOTAMS FROM FSS. FSS FAILS TO PASS ALONG NOTAM REGARDING A RESTRICTED AREA, AS A RESULT THE PLT MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY PENETRATED THIS AREA.
Narrative: I CALLED FSS IN BOISE TO OBTAIN BRIEFING FOR A FLT FROM BOISE TO SUN VALLEY. I CALLED BOISE FSS AGAIN FROM SUN VALLEY TO ACQUIRE BRIEFING FOR THE RETURN FLT TO BOISE. I INDICATED THAT I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS INFO AT MY EARLIER BRIEFING AND HAD REQUESTED FORECASTED WINDS ALOFT AT 9 AND 12 THOUSAND FEET. TO ME THAT WAS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR THE FSS TO MENTION THE NOTAM. I DID NOT FILE A FLT PLAN LEAVING BOISE FOR SUN VALLEY BUT WENT DIRECT BOISE TO THE HAILEY NDB TO HAILEY ARPT (SUN VALLEY) AT 9500'. THIS WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME THROUGH THE SOUTH TIP OF THE RESTR AIRSPACE. THE RETURN FLT WAS TAKEN WELL SOUTH OF THE AREA IN QUESTION. I FEEL THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE A PROPER FLT BRIEFING.
