Narrative:
Being cleared by the temporary tower to land on runway 36; the tower later requested an aircraft model like mine; to make a right turn to 090. The call sign was not mine; even though I used it for all contacts with the tower. I figured arriving at fon du lac for [a nearby event] I am sure there are other models like mine in the area. Looking to my left I noticed a twin on final at my level so the call from tower must have been for me and I turned right to 090. Tower instructed me to do a 360 turn back to final with an uneventful landing behind the twin.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A pilot reported taking evasive action during a light twin near miss on final to Fond du Lac Runway 36 during a nearby event. The temporary Tower Controller issued an avoidance clearance to him with an incorrect call sign so he was slow to respond.
