Narrative:

As we taxi out and when holding behind an ERJ135; the preceding aircraft used excessive thrust in front of us to cross the runway and disturbed our instrumentation. We wound up having multiple EICAS message display that usually clear immediately except that the - autoland one not available - remained illuminated having us to deal with it with the assistance of maintenance control. We advised ground control that we needed to move to a place where we could work out the issue. We were cleared onto runway 13; and then asked to expedite down runway 13; turn onto runway 22 and expedite to exit on taxiway east and then join taxiway aa. This instruction was delivered very rapidly; and was not perfectly clear; and the urgency was that there was an aircraft on final for runway 22. As the captain expedited on runway 13; it became clear to us that he was going to have to maneuver very aggressively to slow for the 90 degree turn onto runway 22; and then accelerate and once again maneuver very aggressively only to slow to turn off the runway. He elected to exit runway 13 on taxiway P; just beyond the intersection of runway 22. There was not enough time to advise ATC of the intentions and on the other side the area was completely clear of traffic on the taxiways. Ground control seemed to understand our actions; and simply issued continuing instructions to position us for the delay. We continued our work on the EICAS issue; and the flight was conducted without further incident.the event occurred due to the intense congestion in lga and the captains election to not maneuver the aircraft aggressively on the ground and prevent the approaching aircraft to go-around. The next time a situation like this happens I will tell the other pilot to hold the position and inquired ATC until all of us perfectly clear on what are the intentions of all the elements involve. And not rush trying to help ATC thinking we are doing them a favor.

Title: An air carrier was holding short of LGA Runway 13 when the preceding aircraft used excessive break away thrust causing instrument disturbances which delayed their takeoff and required an aggressive taxi on Runway 13 to clear for landing traffic.

We advised Ground Control that we needed to move to a place where we could work out the issue. We were cleared onto Runway 13; and then asked to expedite down Runway 13; turn onto Runway 22 and expedite to exit on Taxiway E and then join Taxiway AA.
