Narrative:
Upon landing; the left main gear failed causing plane to skid off the side of the runway. No fuselage damage outside the main gear. It is unclear what caused the gear failure. When the plane skidded into the grass; the right gear also broke. There was no prior indication of a problem with the gear. The landing was in a light wind condition. There was nothing unusual about the landing and I don't know what could have been done differently.
