Narrative:

We landed at msy runway 10 and made a 34 min turn around. The takeoff data was computed for runway 10 (9228'), but the takeoff runway was runway 19 (7000'). I taxied out to runway 19 and asked the copilot to check my numbers (takeoff data). He said they looked good. On takeoff after VOR the aircraft did not come off the ground. I advanced the thrust levers and rotated the aircraft. After takeoff the tower informed us we went into the overrun area. The aircraft flew normally and had no pressurization or control problems. The flight operated normally into jfk. A fly-by on runway 13L indicated no damage and a normal landing was made on runway 22R. This problem would never have happened had we double-checked the takeoff runway with the takeoff data. I would recommend that all air carrier's adopt a positive procedure to double-check the takeoff data with the desired runway and flap condition. Supplemental information from acn 121094: during climb out the tower called and said that an approach light at the end of the runway had been hit. We experienced no abnormal noise, and the aircraft exhibited no vibration or other unusual characteristics. The decision was made to continue to jfk.

Title: ACR LGT TOOK OFF ON RWY 19 USING DATA COMPILED FOR RWY 10 WHICH WAS 2228' LONGER. STRUCK APCH LIGHT.

Narrative: WE LANDED AT MSY RWY 10 AND MADE A 34 MIN TURN AROUND. THE TKOF DATA WAS COMPUTED FOR RWY 10 (9228'), BUT THE TKOF RWY WAS RWY 19 (7000'). I TAXIED OUT TO RWY 19 AND ASKED THE COPLT TO CHK MY NUMBERS (TKOF DATA). HE SAID THEY LOOKED GOOD. ON TKOF AFTER VOR THE ACFT DID NOT COME OFF THE GND. I ADVANCED THE THRUST LEVERS AND ROTATED THE ACFT. AFTER TKOF THE TWR INFORMED US WE WENT INTO THE OVERRUN AREA. THE ACFT FLEW NORMALLY AND HAD NO PRESSURIZATION OR CONTROL PROBS. THE FLT OPERATED NORMALLY INTO JFK. A FLY-BY ON RWY 13L INDICATED NO DAMAGE AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE ON RWY 22R. THIS PROB WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED HAD WE DOUBLE-CHKED THE TKOF RWY WITH THE TKOF DATA. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT ALL ACR'S ADOPT A POSITIVE PROC TO DOUBLE-CHK THE TKOF DATA WITH THE DESIRED RWY AND FLAP CONDITION. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 121094: DURING CLBOUT THE TWR CALLED AND SAID THAT AN APCH LIGHT AT THE END OF THE RWY HAD BEEN HIT. WE EXPERIENCED NO ABNORMAL NOISE, AND THE ACFT EXHIBITED NO VIBRATION OR OTHER UNUSUAL CHARACTERISTICS. THE DECISION WAS MADE TO CONTINUE TO JFK.
