Narrative:
We encountered clear air turbulence, no warning was apparent by sigmets, PIREPS or by our on board radar. No thunderstorms were being depicted by radar. We had an instantaneous altitude deviation of -300 ft, then +300 ft, and a +20 KTS. The seat belt sign was illuminated at the time. Those passenger who did not have their seat belts fastened were tossed into the overhead. Cabin crew-F/a's were also bounced around. Minor injuries occurred to approximately 20 passenger and all 7 cabin crew members. The encounter lasted 5 seconds. No damage was done to the aircraft and we continued on to sju under normal operations.
