Narrative:
Departed MHZ (mildenhall AFB uk) on charter west/O complete ATC clearance. Obtained clearance from london central before entering controled airspace. Copilot asked MHZ for clearance and received departure instructions, but not a full ATC route clearance. A bit confusing as this reporter was on his first trip as captain! The british do some strange things and call things by different names. A bit confusing. I don't believe any violation was committed, but I thought the copilot had obtained a clearance per SOP, but he only got a partial clearance.
