Narrative:
I missed the approach into 4YN due to low clouds and 0 visibility at the MDA. When I declared a miss, pou radio advised me to contact bos. Center gave me the following instructions: 'proceed direct kingston, direct pawling, climb and maintain 3000, report reaching.' I read back the clearance, asking the controller to verify the 'direct kingston' (this made no sense to me). He then said to proceed direct pawling, 'when level 3000' (a different instruction completely). I did so. He then asked my distance from pawling (I could approximate west/O DME). He 'wondered' why I did not proceed direct ign first. I told him that I complied with his most recent instruction. He then asked me if the missed approach was 'planned.' I realized then that he thought that my flight was a training mission. This aggravated me because of the unprofessional assumption on his part clearly led to haphazard controling. I fly commuter airlines for a living and I feel all aircraft under IFR clrncs have equal importance.

Title: PLT OF SMA EXECUTING MISSED APCH QUESTIONED BY ARTCC WHY HE DID NOT FOLLOW MISSED APCH PROC.
Narrative: I MISSED THE APCH INTO 4YN DUE TO LOW CLOUDS AND 0 VISIBILITY AT THE MDA. WHEN I DECLARED A MISS, POU RADIO ADVISED ME TO CONTACT BOS. CENTER GAVE ME THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS: 'PROCEED DIRECT KINGSTON, DIRECT PAWLING, CLB AND MAINTAIN 3000, RPT REACHING.' I READ BACK THE CLRNC, ASKING THE CTLR TO VERIFY THE 'DIRECT KINGSTON' (THIS MADE NO SENSE TO ME). HE THEN SAID TO PROCEED DIRECT PAWLING, 'WHEN LEVEL 3000' (A DIFFERENT INSTRUCTION COMPLETELY). I DID SO. HE THEN ASKED MY DISTANCE FROM PAWLING (I COULD APPROXIMATE W/O DME). HE 'WONDERED' WHY I DID NOT PROCEED DIRECT IGN FIRST. I TOLD HIM THAT I COMPLIED WITH HIS MOST RECENT INSTRUCTION. HE THEN ASKED ME IF THE MISSED APCH WAS 'PLANNED.' I REALIZED THEN THAT HE THOUGHT THAT MY FLT WAS A TRNING MISSION. THIS AGGRAVATED ME BECAUSE OF THE UNPROFESSIONAL ASSUMPTION ON HIS PART CLEARLY LED TO HAPHAZARD CTLING. I FLY COMMUTER AIRLINES FOR A LIVING AND I FEEL ALL ACFT UNDER IFR CLRNCS HAVE EQUAL IMPORTANCE.
