Narrative:

Flight from atl to mob, approximately 25 mi from mgm at FL290, the senior F/a came to the cockpit and said one of the passenger had stopped breathing and we had to land as soon as possible. I decided to make an emergency descent into mgm, which we did. The paramedics took the passenger off the plane. His wife and 4 traveling companions deplaned. We then requested a clearance from ATC from mgm to mob which they got for us and we took off for mob. The problem was that I did not call the company dispatcher while at mgm and get the flight recleared mgm-mob with the proper alternate, fuel and other data pertinent to the proper dispatch release of the flight per the company and FAA rules and procedures. I believe the problem was caused by my haste to get the remaining passenger to mob and failing to communicate with the company in the manner that, I as captain, was supposed to. The solution to the problem is not to get so involved with getting to your destination that you don't do all the proper requirements that you, as captain, are supposed to.
