Narrative:
9/89, I was asked by our maintenance personnel to taxi our company small transport from one point of the ramp to another, about 200 yds away. As I started the taxi roll down slope on the ramp, I stepped on the brakes to make sure they were working and they held fine. As I got closer to the parking spot, I started making a left turn to make a 180 degree turn. The nose wheel tiller was very stiff. As soon as I noticed the stiffness on the nose wheel tiller, I immediately stepped on the brakes, only to find that this time there was none. As I got closer to our maintenance hangar, and unable to stop the airplane by applying brakes, I pulled both throttles into reverse thrust, trying to the get airplane stopped, but the airplane kept rolling and ran into a wooden section of our company hangar, breaking both the captain and copilot windshield.

Title: ACR SMT WAS TAXIED INTO COMPANY HANGAR, BREAKING BOTH WINDSHIELDS.
Narrative: 9/89, I WAS ASKED BY OUR MAINT PERSONNEL TO TAXI OUR COMPANY SMT FROM ONE POINT OF THE RAMP TO ANOTHER, ABOUT 200 YDS AWAY. AS I STARTED THE TAXI ROLL DOWN SLOPE ON THE RAMP, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE WORKING AND THEY HELD FINE. AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE PARKING SPOT, I STARTED MAKING A LEFT TURN TO MAKE A 180 DEG TURN. THE NOSE WHEEL TILLER WAS VERY STIFF. AS SOON AS I NOTICED THE STIFFNESS ON THE NOSE WHEEL TILLER, I IMMEDIATELY STEPPED ON THE BRAKES, ONLY TO FIND THAT THIS TIME THERE WAS NONE. AS I GOT CLOSER TO OUR MAINT HANGAR, AND UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRPLANE BY APPLYING BRAKES, I PULLED BOTH THROTTLES INTO REVERSE THRUST, TRYING TO THE GET AIRPLANE STOPPED, BUT THE AIRPLANE KEPT ROLLING AND RAN INTO A WOODEN SECTION OF OUR COMPANY HANGAR, BREAKING BOTH THE CAPT AND COPLT WINDSHIELD.
