Narrative:
In cruise flight at flight level 300; passenger attempted to open 4L door in flight.flight crew diffused situation by requesting passenger return to seat; and observed no further disruptive behavior. Took precaution by locking down cockpit door; crew and able bodied passenger watched passenger in question for any other suspicious behavior. Spoke to dispatch and agreed to continue to destination where ground security and law enforcement met the aircraft and took individual into custody.passenger may have had mental disability and no further disruption was detected after the flight crew explained the severity of his actions.
