Narrative:
After myself and my crew returned to our operations from an APU fire/evacuate/evacuation incident, 3 FAA inspectors approached me and wanted to talk to me about the incident. I was still attending to some post-flight duties and said I would be with them in a few mins. After approximately 5-7 mins I had these gentlemen situation down with me to explain to them what happened. As I began to explain, one of the inspectors stated he wanted my pilot certificate. I said I thought he wanted to be briefed on what happened, he said he wanted my pilot certificate. At this point I became concerned about this gentleman's tone of voice and decided to stop the interview and explained I wanted to speak to my legal advisors prior to any further conversation. I walked away and proceeded to check on my aircraft with maintenance. The FAA maintenance inspector came over to me and relayed that no one was trying to intimidate, accuse, or threaten me and that the operations inspector with whom I had spoken could ask to see my pilot certificate and press charges if I refused. He then asked if he could see the aircraft log and I agreed. We all proceeded to the aircraft. As the maintenance inspector got the information from the aircraft log I decided to reconsider my decision not to talk to the 2 operations inspectors as I began to feel I had been overreacting to their request. I went over and got in the car where these 2 gentlemen were. I explained to them I was now willing to show them my pilot certificate and apologized for refusing to continue the interview. These gentlemen were very upset with me and told me so first one, and then the other. They explained they had problems with interviewing the pilots during another incident and were very negative about my abrupt termination of the interview. They stated they had to investigate another problem on the airport and it was no longer necessary for me to give any information. They said they would get information from either the company or our doi. I have tried to contact these gentlemen by phone but I have always been told they were in meetings or busy on duties out of the office. I was ashamed of my behavior and so stated to these gentlemen with an apology.

Narrative: AFTER MYSELF AND MY CREW RETURNED TO OUR OPS FROM AN APU FIRE/EVAC INCIDENT, 3 FAA INSPECTORS APPROACHED ME AND WANTED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THE INCIDENT. I WAS STILL ATTENDING TO SOME POST-FLT DUTIES AND SAID I WOULD BE WITH THEM IN A FEW MINS. AFTER APPROX 5-7 MINS I HAD THESE GENTLEMEN SIT DOWN WITH ME TO EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAPPENED. AS I BEGAN TO EXPLAIN, ONE OF THE INSPECTORS STATED HE WANTED MY PLT CERTIFICATE. I SAID I THOUGHT HE WANTED TO BE BRIEFED ON WHAT HAPPENED, HE SAID HE WANTED MY PLT CERTIFICATE. AT THIS POINT I BECAME CONCERNED ABOUT THIS GENTLEMAN'S TONE OF VOICE AND DECIDED TO STOP THE INTERVIEW AND EXPLAINED I WANTED TO SPEAK TO MY LEGAL ADVISORS PRIOR TO ANY FURTHER CONVERSATION. I WALKED AWAY AND PROCEEDED TO CHECK ON MY ACFT WITH MAINT. THE FAA MAINT INSPECTOR CAME OVER TO ME AND RELAYED THAT NO ONE WAS TRYING TO INTIMIDATE, ACCUSE, OR THREATEN ME AND THAT THE OPS INSPECTOR WITH WHOM I HAD SPOKEN COULD ASK TO SEE MY PLT CERTIFICATE AND PRESS CHARGES IF I REFUSED. HE THEN ASKED IF HE COULD SEE THE ACFT LOG AND I AGREED. WE ALL PROCEEDED TO THE ACFT. AS THE MAINT INSPECTOR GOT THE INFO FROM THE ACFT LOG I DECIDED TO RECONSIDER MY DECISION NOT TO TALK TO THE 2 OPS INSPECTORS AS I BEGAN TO FEEL I HAD BEEN OVERREACTING TO THEIR REQUEST. I WENT OVER AND GOT IN THE CAR WHERE THESE 2 GENTLEMEN WERE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM I WAS NOW WILLING TO SHOW THEM MY PLT CERTIFICATE AND APOLOGIZED FOR REFUSING TO CONTINUE THE INTERVIEW. THESE GENTLEMEN WERE VERY UPSET WITH ME AND TOLD ME SO FIRST ONE, AND THEN THE OTHER. THEY EXPLAINED THEY HAD PROBLEMS WITH INTERVIEWING THE PLTS DURING ANOTHER INCIDENT AND WERE VERY NEGATIVE ABOUT MY ABRUPT TERMINATION OF THE INTERVIEW. THEY STATED THEY HAD TO INVESTIGATE ANOTHER PROBLEM ON THE ARPT AND IT WAS NO LONGER NECESSARY FOR ME TO GIVE ANY INFO. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET INFO FROM EITHER THE COMPANY OR OUR DOI.
