Narrative:
The applicant was cleared for the approach by myrtle beach RAPCON. Tower advised her to report on 3 mi final and I said I would tell her at the proper time. As we were coming up on 3 mi, on my visual sweep to the left, I saw 2 air force aircraft at our altitude, on collision course, approaching at a high rate of speed. Evasive action was initiated and one aircraft passed approximately 1000' behind while the trail man pulled up and passed approximately 500' directly overhead. I informed the control tower operator of the incident and was told that the MTR had not contacted tower and he was unaware of their presence in the air traffic area.
