Narrative:
I notified the fueler that I needed 195 gals per side for a total of 390 gals. The fueler came in and asked me if I had planned to pump fuel into the trunk because he knew that the wing would not hold 390 gals per side. I asked him how much fuel he had put in and he replied that he had pumped 195 gals to the left and 232 gals in the right wing for a total of 427 gals. The actual landing weight was only 15 pounds under maximum landing weight. Since the margin was so close, an overweight landing inspection was conducted. No irregularities were found. In retrospect, if I had it to do over, I would have cancelled the trip. At the time it was the fueler's mistake, but I decided to fly the trip anyway. At that moment I accepted the blame and went against my better judgement. Copilot was late which put everything in a rush status. Corrective actions: both crew members should be at the scene at least 1 hour before departure. Fueling instructions should be in written form to avoid confusion. If there is any question that the flight cannot be made within the limitations of the flight manual, then the flight should be cancelled.

Title: CHARTER ACFT WAS OVERFUELED. CAPT MADE DECISION TO GO ANYHOW. ALLEGEDLY LANDED 15 POUNDS UNDER GROSS ALLOWABLE LNDG WEIGHT.
Narrative: I NOTIFIED THE FUELER THAT I NEEDED 195 GALS PER SIDE FOR A TOTAL OF 390 GALS. THE ACTUAL LNDG WEIGHT WAS ONLY 15 LBS UNDER MAX LNDG WEIGHT. SINCE THE MARGIN WAS SO CLOSE, AN OVERWEIGHT LNDG INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED. COPLT WAS LATE WHICH PUT EVERYTHING IN A RUSH STATUS. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: BOTH CREW MEMBERS SHOULD BE AT THE SCENE AT LEAST 1 HR BEFORE DEP. FUELING INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE IN WRITTEN FORM TO AVOID CONFUSION. IF THERE IS ANY QUESTION THAT THE FLT CANNOT BE MADE WITHIN THE LIMITATIONS OF THE FLT MANUAL, THEN THE FLT SHOULD BE CANCELLED.
