Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Pilot reports of being told directions by ATC and pilot attempts to do as instructed. Pilot reports to ATC traffic that he would overfly if following ATC instruction. Pilot deviated from what ATC told him to do to avoid over flight of taxiing aircraft. Aircraft then departed and pilot observed other traffic; was told to turn one direction and turned the opposite to avoid the traffic and possible collision.
