Narrative:
Prior to departure; a standard briefing was obtained from FSS. The briefer was specifically asked if there are any parachute jump activities in the vicinity of the CCC VORTAC. The reply was that there were no parachuting activities in this area. Upon arrival at the VOR while conducting a visual practice search; it was discovered that there were jumpers in the air. It would be helpful if the operator would notify FSS about such activities so close to a NAVAID.

Title: C182 pilot reported jumpers in the air in the vicinity of CCC VORTAC even though there was no notice of the activity.
