Narrative:
Altimeter 'jumped' once or twice on climb. ATC inquired as to altitude. Mode C indicated 300' low. Altimeter showed 150' low. After flight level altimeter checked by licensed facility which found it to be sticking. Altimeter was replaced. Also discovered that log book showed inspection to have lapsed 4 months prior. Don't know if the inspection would have cured, but wouldn't think 150' low using it hurt.
